Sections and Services

The library is divided into various sections:

1. The Reserve Section

Located next to the circulation desk, it houses few copies of books on high demand, the laws of Kenya, copies of the Constitution and some subject files. These books are not borrowed out of the library.

2. The Open Shelves / Reading Area

The entire area on the left after the stairs. Books in this area can be borrowed for a period of one week except Law Reports and Dictionaries.

3. Special Collection

The room on the first floor, on the right after the stairs, with Laws of Kenya, Special Reports from various Commissions, Dictionaries, training materials for Continuing Professional Development and other non-law core materials.

4. The Electronic Resource Center

Located on the first floor, used for study and research. Library rules apply here too.

5. Media Lounge

Located on the ground floor, it houses Daily Newspapers and Magazines. No material is removed from this room except with authority from library staff.

Services

• Photocopying: Kshs 2/- per page (limited, subject to Copyright Law).
• Printing: Kshs 5/- per page.
• Scanning: Kshs 25 per page (students), Kshs 40 (non-students).
• Binding: Spiral binding at Kshs 50/- (up to 50 sheets) and Kshs 100/- (50–100 sheets).
• Reference: An online reference service, including past papers for ATP, Paralegal and Pre-Bar. For queries: library@ksl.ac.ke
